Greener Tourism

If uncontrolled, the negative impacts of tourism could gradually destroy the environmental resources on which it depends.

We do our best to minimise the harmful effects of littering, soil erosion, transport pollution, discharges into the sea, natural habitat loss, increased pressure on endangered species, a strain on water resources and deforestation.

We do the following to make our trips more environmentally friendly.

Carbon Offset
(see our seperate policy)

Education
-
Customers are provided with a leaflet to raise awareness.
- Employees are provided with education.
- Wherever possible a presentation at the Kathmandu Environmental Education Project (KEEP) is included for travellers to Nepal. - - Our trekking guides pick up and dispose of litter.
- Educate school children in Nepal about what they can do to preserve the environment.

Conservation
- Local links to conservation projects where we provide volunteers, financial support and publicity.

Investment
-
Into local projects and initiatives.

Fostering Good links
-
With local communities to receive and react quickly to new environmental issues.

Further work
- More consultations at a local level to develop structured and regular processes with local NGO's and governmental bodies. - Invest more into legitimate conservation projects.
