Day 01: Arrive Paro | B L D
Your guide, who will be with you throughout your visit, will be waiting for you at Paro airport. Drive through the lovely Paro valley to your hotel. Afternoon free for leisure.
Day 02: Paro - Thimphu | B L D
Drive to Drukgyel Dzong, a ruined fortress where Bhutanese warriors fought off Tibetan invaders centuries ago. See the 7th century Kyichu Lhakhang, After lunch visit Ta Dzong which houses Bhutan's National Museum, then walk down the trail to visit Rinpung Dzong ("fortress of the heap of jewels"). Finally, proceed to Thimphu, the capital town of Bhutan. Enjoy free time in the early evening for a stroll around town before dinner.
Day 03: Thimphu - Paro | B L D
Visit the National Library, the Institute for Zorig Chusum ("the Painting School") , and the outside of the National Institute of Traditional Medicine. After lunch, visit Tashichhodzong, "the fortress of the glorious religion", and the National Memorial Chorten. Then, visit the government-run Handicrafts Emporium and local crafts shops, to browse through examples of Bhutan's fine traditional arts. In the evening, drive to Paro.
Day 04: Depart Paro | B L D
Drive to the airport, your guide will help you with exit formalities and then bid you farewell.
